History
DRA has a rich experience of public and private projects dating back to our founding in 1923 when an entrepreneur by the name of William W. Drummey, a graduate of the Boston Latin School and MIT, established his own architectural practice. His first significant commission, the Capitol Movie Theatre in Arlington, MA was completed in 1925. The first school project was the Conley Elementary School in 1932. This achievement marked the beginning of a long, successful tradition of quality school design. Today, the DRA portfolio shows a mix of learning environments, libraries, courthouses, healthcare facilities and corporate work, each exemplifying the design excellence and attention to client needs that has been our hallmark for 85 years.
