Originally, DRA designed and constructed a two-story addition to convert a private mansion for use as senior housing. Later, DRA was again asked to renovate the 100 year-old landmark. The chosen scheme included interior upgrades of 23,000 SF involving the reception area, main dining facility, conference area, lounge and office space. Interior ADA issues were addressed and included expanding door widths, updating floor hardware, interior handrails and signage. Exterior renovation included new ADA compliant ramps, plaza areas, exterior signage, lighting and reconfiguration of the entrance and parking sequence. DRA also provided planning and preliminary design services to convert a portion of the facility to assisted living units.
