Greater Lawrence Technical School
Andover, MA
DRA's work at Greater Lawrence Technical School is one of the largest high school addition/renovation project in Massachusetts. The 262,000 SF of renovations and 93,000 SF addition allowed the school to increase its enrollment from 1350 to 1625 students. The design process reinforced the shift to cluster based team teaching, making it the first vocational school in Massachusetts to adopt this model. The new design has academic classrooms clustered around vocational spaces. Each cluster (Advanced Science & Technology, Business Communication, Service and Construction) also contains a computer lab and teacher work room/meeting room to support the team teaching in each cluster.
