Tantasqua Regional High School Sturbridge, MA
The new high school houses 1,500 students grades 9-12. DRA faced the challenge of completing new construction while the existing school remained occupied on the site. The design was also impacted by extensive grade changes and wetlands issues. The facility has 59 classrooms including five science labs, two computer labs, one language/computer lab, a TV production studio, school store, student activity center and field house. The technical component of the school includes culinary arts, technology education center, machine shop, photonics, carpentry, electrical, allied health, business and drafting. A pool and 750-seat auditorium for school and community use are also included in the design.
