Weston Public Library
Weston, MA

The initial phase of architectural services included the study of a portion of the 1950s high school building converted to new library, as well as analysis of six sites for a new building. The town unanimously supported the new building option. The exterior of the reflects the Building Committee's strong desire to present the library in a traditional envelope, one which is sympathetic to the original, and much revered, 1898 library building.  The public entrance of the main floor features a rotunda containing the circulation function and browsing nooks for new book display, as well as access to: The Program Room Gallery (including public bathrooms); the children's Library; the reference desk; the audio-visual desk; and the fiction/non fiction collection.  Additionally, this floor features the program room (with seating for 100 persons and after hours accessibility), a small conference room, small group study rooms, Director's office, computer Room, formal reading room, circulation workroom, and the Children's Library.
