Pierce Middle School Milton, MA
As part of the town-wide school construction program, the Pierce Middle School moved from its existing building into the Milton High School building, requiring extensive renovation and a new addition. The existing boiler room, weight room, auxiliary gym and locker rooms were demolished to make room for new classroom wing, administrative offices, band room and gymnasium. The existing building was renovated to produce academic spaces more suitable to middle school teaching, including cluster spaces for team teaching and group projects. Engineering systems were replaced throughout and hazardous materials were abated.
