Paul Revere School
Revere, MA

Hear what Superintendent of Schools Dr. Paul Dakin has to say about DRA:

The new Paul Revere School replaces a 1921 school where renovation wasn’t feasible due to educational space standards, accessibility issues, poor thermal performance and antiquated building systems. The new building houses a gymnasium, cafeteria and library organized as shared spaces available to the community evenings and weekends. The design honors the previous structure by maintaining its namesake and salvaging several artifacts such as a Corinthian column portico, granite steps and engraved pre-cast placards and incorporating them into the new building.

The design features contemporary building systems combined with historical references. The school honors the historical legacy of Paul Revere and the revolutionary war era by featuring a number of displays throughout the facility that can be used as teaching aids. Silhouettes of horsemen, an arcade of Paul Revere imagery and an interpretive map in porcelain tile of the ride of Paul Revere are among some of the features.
